MOLE-Corn
MOLE-Corn is specially formulated to improve the quality of wholecrop and maize silage and also reduce the risk of aerobic spoilage.
The key ingredients are Alliin, the natural microbial inhibitor found in garlic, and a strain of lactobacillus brevis, a bacterium which produces acetic acid in silage.
The combination of Allicin with L. brevis gives a double action attack on spoilage yeasts, the Allicin has an immediate inhibitory effect onyeast after ensiling, whereas the brevis bacteria gradually produce acetic acid over a period of weeks and months, which further inhibit yeasts and moulds.
They work together giving a controlled fermentation and maintaining a cool silage, high in nutrient value.
MOLE-Corn is suitable for wholecrop silages ranging from 35-75% dry matter (DM). Trial work using 40% DM wholecrop has shown MOLE-Corn treatment has dramatically improved aerobic stability, thererfore minimising nutrient losses.
MOLE-Corn is suitable for maize silage ranging from 30-40% DM.
Benefits
Double action against spoilage organisms gives:
-
Immediate long lasting protection against spoilage
-
Increased aerobic and clamp stability
-
Reduced nutrient losses at feedout
