The Companies We are Working With
Low impact solar PV panels
- SunGift Solar
- Rainbow Renewable Energy Systems
- Source Renewable Energy Generation
- REC Group
Mole Valley Farmers have searched manufacturers worldwide and partnered with the REC Group, sourcing high quality solar panels to make up ‘ground mount’ PV systems that enable continued grazing (with sheep) of land, or occupy waste land borders. A 20Kw system takes up a surprisingly small area. These panels are equally suitable for use on roof mounted systems.
REC are a European company that make panels themselves (many just source components on availability and price as required) starting with producing the silicon from sand, right through to the finished product, priding themselves on quality through the whole process.
They consider their panels as having possibly the best energy payback on the market. The quality of the company and the warranty it offers is, we believe, very important for an investment of 25 years. We are very impressed with REC panels as well as the attitude and quality of the Company.
Invertor Technology
- Mastervolt
For these market sectors, Mastervolt develops, manufactures and distributes high quality electro technical systems for independent energy supply. With its head office in Amsterdam and seven of its own branches worldwide, Mastervolt sells these systems in more than 60 countries via a network of distributors and dealers.
Mastervolt’s background is in supplying electrics to the marine industry and we believe their experience in this testing environment gives this product an advantage in the agricultural sector.
Mastervolt and Mole Valley Farmers
In the UK, Mole Valley Farmers are supported by a central office of Mastervolt UK located in Romsey, Hampshire. Sales, technical support, after sales service and administration staff are all located in that offi ce to serve our needs.
The development of MVF ground based systems, combined with Mastervolt’s inverters, gives a reliable, rugged and cost effective means of gaining maximum return from farmland and buildings.
The addition of smaller roof based systems, ensures that domestic houses can also be included in the investment decision in order to gain maximum return from existing facilities. The combination of Mole Valley Farmers aspirations, with its unique focus on members interests, is supported by Mastervolt’s proven product range and customer support to bring the best solution and quickest return on investment.
It is possible that in the future having a “lower carbon footprint” will generate a premium for agricultural produce.
The Farmer’s Power Station
‘To promote and optimise the generation of renewable energy for the benefit of the rural economy in an environmentally low impact way and to aid the development of low carbon agriculture’
Mole Valley Farmers was formed 50 years ago as a buying group, combining the scale of our farmer members to negotiate better prices on farm inputs. The Farmers Power Station creates a virtual renewable energy power station for farmers and land owners to combine their generation scale and maximise the value of energy sold to the Grid.
The Farmers Power Station will also represent a new Green Agriculture, demonstrating to consumers how agriculture is driving down C02 emissions, providing energy for the country and creating a positive image for agriculture.
Mole Valley Farmers in Partnership with Good Energy
Mole Valley Renewables has chosen Good Energy as the Feed in Licensee for Farmers Power Station, as they offer good returns for our Members and are also the only UK supplier to source 100% of their electricity from renewable sources.
Mole Valley Farmers and Mole Valley Renewables Director, Steve Edmunds says, “Good Energy has real expertise and empathy with the renewable energy market. We have a huge opportunity to produce renewable energy for the whole community as we are well placed in the MVF trading area.”
Hugo House, Head of Business Development, Good Energy
“It is great that Mole Valley Renewables are taking this opportunity to generate clean, green electricity by creating their own virtual power station. With our uncompromising dedication the renewables and history in developing the sector, Good Energy is the recognised industry specialist in supporting independent generators in the UK.”
Mole Valley Farmers believe that working with Good Energy makes the proposition for farmers considering renewable energy production hard to beat. Our advice to any member is to act now. To maximise return on investment with the Feed in Tariff, PV systems need to be installed and accredited by April 2012.
