What We Offer

A consultative approach to nutrient management

We believe that there is a real need in the market place for excellent technical advice on all areas of forage and livestock production. Our extensive field-based Forage Specialist team are available to meet you on your farm to thoroughly investigate your current nutrient management regime, the current and future nutrient supply coming from any on-farm manures and slurries and your cropping plans and the latent nutrient reserves in the soils.

It is only after we truly understand your individual needs can we offer the best advice and service. Unlike other farm consultants, our advice is free of charge. We believe that fertiliser is such a vital input on the farm that charging for the time spent with you examining the best nutrient management program would simply be a barrier to finding the best solution.

Some examples of happy customers

Improved grass quality

WJ & JM Elliot
Henscot Barton
Bradford
Hollsworthy
Devon

WJ & JM Elliot have been using NutribalancerTM system fertilisers on their new Dairy unit, which they took on 4 years ago. The farm was previously an Arable unit for many years and the soil nutrient reserves were low. For John and son Mark the main objective has been to improve both the soil structure and nutrient content, to produce large volumes of quality grass and silage to feed the 450 dairy cows.

“Through working closely with our local Forage Specialist, Trevor Dunn, we have improved our grass quality and in particular are seeing impressive  re-growth of grass after cutting”, says John.  “We are utilizing both FYM and Slurry more effectively by using a soil conditioner which has resulted in a reduction in the use of nitrogen on the farm and therefore saving us money. The worms are back and our fields have never looked so green”.

Improved stock health

DGD & SA Hamilton
Tre Lago
St Davids
Pembrokeshire

Due to the self-regulatory effect from the Sodium and the high trace element levels in Euroblocs, the Hamiltons have used Euroblocs consistently for the last 10 years. The farm carries 50 Saler suckler cows, and followers – in total around 120 head of cattle none of which are finished on farm. There is also a flock of around 100 ewes.

Euroblocs are fed to stock on a year round where no compound feed is purchased on the farm other than a small amount of protein. Forage is definitely the cheapest form of feed and Euroblocs are used to compliment any shortages of trace elements. Soil tests over the years have shown the farm to be deficient in copper, selenium, iodine and also sodium although the farm is close to the Pembrokeshire coastline. Calseacalver is a particular favourite Eurobloc although the whole range is used.
