Head Office

Situated on the edge of Exmoor in beautiful North Devon our Head Office is surrounded by rolling hills, scenic countryside and miles of coastline, it is in an ideal location for our employees to benefit from surfing and other outdoor pursuits.

Moving to its current location on Station Road in October 1971, the site operated for many decades with Head Office occupying the offices on the first floor and the branch on the ground floor.  Since this time the company has grown and flourished and in March 2004 the branch relocated to its superb purpose built premises on the Pathfields Industrial Estate, enabling Head Office to utilise the entire building.

Audit Department / Security

The Audit Team are responsible for helping the business achieve its objectives by assessing risk within the business.  They visit all of our sites and review the operation of the controls and procedures that protect the business.

Credit Control

The credit control team is responsible for collecting all overdue payments on the Feed Solutions, MVF, Scats and Forage ledgers chasing to the point of Legal Action. They liaise with the customers advising by phone or letter on invoices outstanding, of unpaid cheques and failed direct debits. Other duties include: communicating with branches and reps on a day to day basis updating them on various accounts, releasing orders, updating credit limits, managing problem accounts, supplying customer references and handling staff accounts.

Customer Services

Mole Valley Farmers is committed to “Putting the Customer 1st”, and the Customer Service Team is responsible for assisting our store teams to achieve our Corporate Philosophy of delivering the “highest level of Customer Service”. This is primarily achieved through providing support, training and guidance to staff to ensure that we are continually driving improvements in our levels of Customer Service for both Internal, and External Customers. To enable industry and competitor benchmarking, the team also run a number of projects to monitor and measure our Customer Service performance.

In addition, the Customer Services Team is responsible for responding to any Retail or E Commerce enquiries, complaints, compliments or feedback which is received at Head Office.

Finance Operations

This department primarily identifies and controls the business liabilities by reconciling the businesses individual accounts against suppliers own statements. It also processes all payments for 5 businesses and all business and personal expenses.

Group Services

Group Services (including Head Office House Services) manage a number of functions which have a cost/service impact across the whole business, including waste management, telephony, Company vehicles, cleaning and hygiene etc. and site services for head office. They are also responsible for all our properties, planning permissions for alterations, building work and administers the rent and rates.

Human Resources / Health & Safety

Human Resources are responsible for payroll, recruitment, training, health and safety, and the welfare of our employees.  They continually assess and add to our range of employee benefits that we offer.  This department ensures that the Company complies with any obligations it has under Employment Law and the Health & Safety Legislation which are constantly changing.

IT

Technology is a pivotal component of our business - helping to improve the experiences for all our customers.

In order to support the business, IT endeavours to meet the highest of standards. As much as our customers are our first priority, IT looks on the business needs as the number one priority. This requires a close association and partnership with all areas of the business.

Our people are instrumental in delivering the very high standards set. We developing their skills as technology progresses and the business needs grow. The IT Department, with development, support and core infrastructure elements, is an exciting and rewarding place to work. We are not here to provide just hardware or software, we provide quality services and technological solutions for the benefit and experience of all.

Marketing

Our dedicated marketing team looks after the marketing needs of the Company, they also compile the newsletter, update the Company database, and update and maintain our intranet and internet sites.  The department is closely involved in all show and event activities that we participate in.

Membership

Our membership department is devoted to all enquiries relating to our members and shareholders and is responsible for updating member details and new member applications.

Mole Valley Plus

Mole Valley Plus is a division of Mole Valley Farmers  offering  a “member benefits service”  by combining the scale of over 30,000 members to offer a variety of cost effective products and services to all our members, some of which are also available to non-members too.  Our enthusiastic team deal with orders providing many services which include tractor diesel, heating oil, LPG, electricity, concrete, aggregates, tyres, builders merchants, ear tags and equipment hire, to name but a few.

Retail Product Management

Mole Valley Farmers stock in the region of 20,000 products. All products within Mole Valley are sourced by a team of Product Managers based at Head Office.

The product range is divided in to 50 Categories and each Product Manager has a portfolio of Categories (please see the ‘Category Responsibility Chart’ on the Intranet for details). The Product Manager is responsible for product choice, sourcing, margin, establishing and maintaining Supplier relationships.

Sales Ledger

The team is responsible for processing and allocating all types of payments received, this can be by Direct Debit, Debit Card, Internet Banking, cheque and payments made at our stores. Also it is the first point of call for customer account queries.
