Brave the cold with Mole Valley Farmers

With the days becoming shorter and the temperatures falling, it's clear that winter is well and truly on its way. While some are more than happy to get outside and embrace the chill, it is understandable that many others would rather just wrap up warm and get away from the bitter cold at all costs. Luckily, Mole Valley Farmers stock a fine range of products to help keep you warm as soon as the cold comes along.

When the weather's simply too bad to go out exploring, many of us like nothing better than to stay in and cosy up in front of the TV, and although most rely on central heating for warmth, you can't beat the experience of a roaring open fire. Enjoying this poses a fresh problem, however - particularly if you have forgotten your Scouts training and are no longer an expert in lighting fires. With the aid of reliable products like Flamers natural firelighters, though, and a few handfuls of kindling, you should be able to get one going in no time. These firelighters are completely odourless, which means your home won't be filled with a nasty and unpleasant stench after use. If you have just installed a natural stove in your home, why not take a look at our webiste's handy Multifuel Stoves and Cookers area to ensure you are getting the most out of your burner?

To keep the fire going you will need plenty of logs and, more importantly, a place for storage which will keep them nice and dry, like a barn or outbuilding. While doing the dreaded log-run in the dark, it's always an idea to get a decent torch – such as the Clulite clu10 – to light the way and help you spend as little time out in the cold as possible. While on the subject of heating, be sure to check out our great winter competition, where you could win an AGA Little Wenlock Classic Multifuel Stove worth £775, plus a year's supply of logs to go with it!

If you do have to head outside, wrapping up in several layers and purchasing a decent winter hat and glove set should do the trick. The right footwear is also imperative; after all, the last thing you want is to step out in the cold and have to walk around with soaking feet!
