We Are Holding A Family Fun Weekend at Our South Molton Store on 18th & 19th July

South Molton Store

Mole Valley Farmers South Molton is hosting a family fun weekend, raising money for Exmoor Search and Rescue on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July.

There will be a country theme running throughout, with a range of activities from 10.00 am – 4.00 pm on Saturday.  Under 11 year olds always enjoy a bouncy castle.

There will also be a range of ‘pocket-money’ activities, face painting and skittles with a £50 first prize.

The Police and Fire Brigade will be chatting to the children, while Wellie the Elephant, Mr Mole and the Quince Honey Farm bee characters will all there to greet families.

Keep the kids occupied with a Hunt the Mole, or the colouring competitions, where all entrants receive a free lolly for their efforts, while fractious adults can be distracted by the promise of entering a free prize draw, to win £50 of Mole Valley Farmers vouchers.

Tarka Radio, which broadcasts at the North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple and is sponsored by Mole Valley Famers, will also be coming along to help entertain and take the role of master of ceremonies on Saturday.

Mole Valley Farmers has a strong ethos of supporting the local agricultural community from ‘Plough to Plate’ meaning they focus on stocking quality food and drink from local, artisan companies wherever possible.

So Besshill Farm Shop from Arlington, Barnstaple will be providing the BBQ on the Saturday, while customers can sample honey from South Molton’s Quince Honey Farm, free tea and coffee from Miles of Porlock and a delicious selection of pies and cakes from Jon Thorners.

On the Sunday, just £1 will buy a mouth-watering Devon cream tea, with tasty scones from Reeds Bakery, clotted cream from Langage Farm and homemade jam from Waterhouse Fayre.

Sunday will feature a car boot sale from 10.00 am - 3.00 pm, (traders from 9.00), so what better time to tidy those cupboards and drawers, and turn unwanted items into cash.  With pitches on a hard standing at just £5, all proceeds going to charity and no crack of dawn starts, why not get the whole family involved?  And as the store is now open on Sundays, snacks and drinks and the opportunity to do some shopping will be available right through until 4.00.

To book a pitch, please email [email protected] or ring (01769) 574477.

Shaun Carter, Store Manager says:

“Mole Valley Famers South Molton is pleased to kick-start the long summer holidays by holding a fun, family weekend.  The focus is on providing loads of affordable activities, while we raise funds for Exmoor Search and Rescue; a vital charity, which many of us have used in times of emergency. With a bouncy castle, which seems to be enjoyed by all kids, a BBQ, games, competitions, delicious food tastings and the opportunity to meet our Emergency Services and then the car boot and cream teas on the Sunday, we hope there will be something for everyone to enjoy. The weekend will also give us a brilliant opportunity to welcome both the local community and visitors and really showcase our store, of which we are very proud.”
