Uni In My Wellies - A University Term in Wellington Boots

Uni in My Wellies

Take Part in Uni In My Wellies - #UniInMyWellies

Calling All Students at RAU Cirencester and Harper Adams - #UniInMyWellies

In 2013 we launched our #UniInMyWellies project.  Two universities, ten pairs of wellington boots from our top suppliers, one ultimate winning team.  Our 2013-2014 winners were Harper Adams University but will they reign for 2014-2015?
See some of the great photos our welly boot testers have shared with us here.

If you want to take part you can apply to be a welly tester for us in Autumn/Winter 2014-2015 by submitting the form below by 5pm on Friday 12th September 2014. You must be able to meet with and collect your wellingtons from Caroline Rowden at the Harper Adams University or the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester's Freshers' Fayre.

Past students have had some fantastic experiences such as being picked up by Farmers Weekly, caught on camera with BBC Countryfile and becoming brand ambassadors for Jonsson and Dunlop.

Prizes for 2014-2015 are:

The Overall Prize for our "Outstanding Student":

  • £200 Mole Valley Farmers' vouchers to use online.
  • An upgrade from your trial wellington boots to the Aigle Parcours® 2 range (worth approx £140 a pair).
  • The opportunity to have 3 days of commercial experience with Mole Valley Farmers, tailored to your specific course / desired career.  (We will cover travel and accommodation expenses).
  • The opportunity to network with the Mole Valley Farmers management teams whilst at Head Office.
  • Plus, there will be £50 online vouchers for each student in the winning team.

The Qualifier:

  • Are you a student at Harper Adams University or the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester?
  • Do you want to trial free wellington boots to keep forever?
  • Are you good at having fun in a team?
  • Do you use Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest?

The Challenge:

Complete trials on your free pair of wellington boots, supplied by a top brand and supply feedback throughout your year at university.

Send us your images week by week and we will collate them on a Pinterest board with your name on them.  You will also need to provide a written review by a specified time.

Once all reviews are in, a panel of judges will decide an overall winner.

Here are a few tasty suggested “challenges” to try whilst trialling your boots:

  1. Take a Group Picture in front of college in wellies in college kit
  2. Take a picture of a group of lecturers in your wellies
  3. Organise a welly tug of war
  4. Go to the Freshers’ Ball in wellies
  5. Get a group picture at the Autumn Internationals in the SU bar
  6. Document the best non traditional use of a welly
  7. Create a humorous wellington related video of your team
  8. Photograph as many different societies as possible wearing wellies
  9. Photo a fresher in your wellies
  10. Organise a photo of as many students as possible all in wellies
  11. Attempt to create or break a welly world record

The Rules

Terms and Conditions apply

Additional Terms and conditions for the #UniInMyWeliies competition:

Please remember that you will be representing your university and must conduct your challenges in a way that is respectful to your university and other colleagues.

You will be an ambassador for your wellington brand and as such you will be expected to behave in a suitable manner.

The brands that are participating in this campaign expect a well written, well rounded review of their wellingtons within a certain timeframe.  If you don't send us a review, you won't win anything.

All photo submissions must be appropriate and in good nature.  Photos will be tagged in your name and attached to your team Pinterest board so please clearly label all submissions.

Photos need to be submitted gradually by e-mail to [email protected] - a flurry of images at the last minute may not be included in your final collage.
