Free Health Checks for Farmers

Farmers are invited to our South Molton Store on 17th March for a free health check

The Farm Community Network (FCN) has organised a series of free health check events for Devon farmers in conjunction with Public Health England and one of the three dates will be held at Mole Valley Farmers  South Molton store, at Pathfields Business Park.

Mole Valley Farmers has a close and continued relationship with FCN.  This charitable organisation aims to help members of the agricultural community who are suffering hardship.  It has a clear Christian ethos and its services are available to those in need in a supportive, non-judgmental manner. Agriculture is widely known to be a lonely occupation so FCN can offer a free listening ear or act as a source of practical advice on personal or business matters, as required.  In the case of the health checks, it hopes to offer prevention rather than cure.

To be eligible people must be between the ages of 40 and 75, and not have suffered from a stroke, heart or kidney disease, or diabetes.

Appointments can be pre-booked by ringing 01392 269458, quoting OUTREACH and the date and location preferred.

Come along on:

  • 3 February 9am to 12pm Holsworthy Livestock Market
  • 26 February 9am to 12pm Exeter Livestock Market
  • 17 March: 11am to 5pm, Mole Valley Farmers, South Molton

Julie Edwards, Head of Agricultural Affairs and Corporate Communications explains:

Many of us are so busy looking after our farms, our livestock and our businesses that tending to our own health gets overlooked.  We hope that farmers and their families who might be coming to the South Molton store will take this opportunity to have a MOT for themselves while they are there and prevent health problems in the future”.
