Graffiti Bales for Cancer Research UK

Here Come The Girls

Graffiti Bales | Peter Sheridan

Pete Rideout, a contractor from Sherbourne was pleased to add some pink wrap to his order of black when contacted by Dave Brock, Assistant Manager at Yeovil Mole Valley Farmers. “After all”, he says “nearly everyone my age has been affected in one way or another from cancer and I would like to do my bit to support the charity and also raise awareness”. He had been toying with an idea of displaying the pink bales at the local fete to support Cancer Research and he even got as far as Googling some images but did not have time to get them ready.

Not deterred, he then searched for a graffiti artist in the area and discovered local artist Peter Sheridan who was keen to offer his services as his mother has been recovering from cancer treatment.

Pete was careful where he stacked the bales “after all, I don’t want to cause any accidents” he said. They decorated the bales during the week of the Great Dorset Steam Fair, as the traffic was slow moving people were taking pictures. “The girls have generated a lot of interest, he said we are hoping for blue bale wrap next year to support testicular cancer and are already thinking of ideas of how to decorate them!”

Here at Mole Valley Farmers, we have pledged to raise in excess of £10,000 which is earmarked for Cancer Research UK. You can support us here.
